The Manitoba Challenge: Linking Water and Land Management for Climate Adaptation

Manitoba’s water resources notably including Lake Winnipeg—are vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Ecological watershed management is a major opportunity to address climate change vulnerabilities and challenges related to Lake Winnipeg nutrient management and can be pursued as a rural innovation agenda. Climate change adaptation through integrated watershed management and planning (IWMP) should therefore be a major provincial policy.
